Do you want to build the software that manages the fastest computers in the world? Do you want to change the world forever and combine High Performance Computing with Big Data and Cloud computing?
Built for the OpenStack cloud, ClusterVision has developed Trinity, a private-cloud next-generation management system suitable for High Performance Computing, Big Data and Cloud.
As our company is growing, we are looking for an eager English (and preferably also German!) speaking Linux Project Engineer with excellent technical skills.
This position involves installing, configuring and testing of our clusters, as well as some technical escalation support. To succeed in this role you need to analyse the technical issues first and solve them in a very pragmatic way. You are able to work alongside our customer and put across out of the box solutions. If necessary, you will provide training in order to support our customers.
You will work with the latest hardware and software technologies such as cutting edge massive storage platforms, high speed network interconnects as InfiniBand, Omnipath and 10GE as well as modern High Performance Computing software.
There will be ample opportunity to develop your skills and professional growth.
Required and Desirable Skills
Most supercomputer cluster operating systems and software environments are based on Linux and your tasks involve a reasonable amount of Linux troubleshooting, tuning and tweaking. You should be very familiar with the GNU/Linux Operating System at system administration level. The ability to script in Perl/Bash/PHP and knowledge about high performance and high availability clustering would be seen as advantageous, but not strictly necessary. You are expected to be familiar with various Linux distributions and generic Unix services.
Parallel Programming and Scientific Computing
Most of our Linux supercomputer clusters are used for scientific high performance computing applications and many of our customers are scientists. Some prior experience with parallel programming (MPI) and an affinity with scientific computing would be seen as advantageous, but not strictly necessary. Knowledge of technologies like SGE, PBS, LDAP, NFS, PXE, Heartbeat, Lustre, GPFS, FhGFS, Nagios and Ganglia is seen as advantageous, but is also not strictly necessary.
Customer Facing Skills
You will spend quite some time at customer sites and some of your tasks will include providing administrator and user training to customers. You will also be communicating with customers on the phone and through email.
You will frequently travel within the Benelux, United Kingdom, Germany and Southern Europe for HPC cluster installations, training and customer support. Therefore, fluency in English is important. Fluency in German would be beneficial.
ClusterVision is a young and rapidly growing company. We require people who are not only very skilled, but who are also flexible, reliable, can take initiative, can deal with responsibility, and have a “can do” mentality.
ClusterVision offers an informal working atmosphere with energetic people who enjoy being part of a rapidly growing and successful organisation. We have an open management culture in which we encourage all colleagues to contribute to the process of improving our products, services and processes. We offer competitive pay packages, but more importantly, a fun and exciting place to work where you can develop your skills and build a career.
